When a person dies, one of the first things their executors and family will do is plan the funeral. Even though you may have made a Will and stated what your preferences are, by the time the Will is found or read it may be too late to include your favourite hymns or donations to charity. Equally as important is ensuring that those left behind are provided for, important documents such as insurance policies and pensions can be found quickly, that debts can be sorted and that bank and savings accounts can be accessed to ensure that the family are not left destitute by the accounts being frozen whilst tax and other matters are sorted.

By keeping a list of all your important documents and policies together, your executors and estate administrators will be able to minimise the trauma of death for those left behind and get on with the job of administering the estate and where necessary create trusts for minors or those that are unable to care for themselves.
